Construction Projects on LaGrange Road Take a Toll on Motorists
Starting July 22 expect delays along LaGrange Road between St. Francis and Stuenkel Roads.
The Village begins its work on Monday on the installation of new right turn lanes, southbound on LaGrange Road for westbound Route 30 and northbound at Market Street. The project, which will include daytime and overnight lane closures, is expected to take about six weeks in each direction to complete, said Adam Nielsen, village development coordinator. The total right turn lane installation project, including traffic light installation, should be done by Nov. 1, he said.
Also on Monday, an Illinois Dept. of Transportation road resurfacing project begins on LaGrange Road between Sager and Stuenkel Roads. Motorists are warned to anticipate delays along that stretch as well, said Nielsen.

Nielsen said those who are familiar with the roads are apt to take alternative routes. Since construction along Harlem Avenue is complete, it would serve as a good north-south alternative as is Wolf Road. To avoid anticipated backups at the intersection of LaGrange Road and Route 30, he suggested that Route 30 westbound motorists might head south on Pfeiffer Road to Steger Road.
"Drivers should expect delays and are urged to pay close attention to the signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment," warned IDOT officials.
The entire IDOT LED installation project is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 31.
