Culinary Studio Plans Move Forward In Frankfort
The cooking studio would offer different types of cooking classes, as well as a lounge and bar.
FRANKFORT, IL — At its Monday meeting, the Frankfort Village Board approved special use permits for a new culinary studio in downtown Frankfort.
The business, Whisk & Flame, would be located at 10 and 12 Elwood St., within the Grainery Village Square.
"In addition to the studio, the space will include a lounge and bar, which will be available to both class participants and walk-in patrons not attending a cooking class," Trustee Adam Borrelli said.

Since the business would be within the H-1 historic district, the business is requesting four special use permits and a parking variation.
Borrelli said the special use permit requests are for indoor entertainment, accessory liquor sales, restaurant/tavern and extended hours of operation until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The parking variation would allow the reduction of required off-street parking spaces from 115 to 47 parking spaces.
According to plan commission meeting minutes, the business will mostly be finished for the night by 9 or 10 p.m., but there could be a special event that goes later until 1 a.m. like a New Year's Eve cocktail class.
Later in the meeting, the Board also approved increasing the number of liquor licenses to accommodate liquor sales at Whisk & Flame.
