Dangerous Cold: Where to Find Warming Centers In Frankfort
With severe cold in the area predicted this week, here is where Frankfort residents can go to stay warm.
FRANKFORT, IL — Mother Nature is throwing some seriously cold weather Frankfort's to start the week. Below is a list of where Frankfort residents can go should they need to stay warm.
- Frankfort Village Hall, 432 W. Nebraska St. (815) 469-2177. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Masks are required.
- Frankfort Township, 11000 W. Lincoln Highway. (815) 469-4907. Open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Masks are required.
The latest weather predictions on AccuWeather, snow and hazardous travel conditions are expected for the Monday morning commute with a winter weather advisory in effect until noon. Total snow accumulations could be 2 to 3 inches. The high for Monday is predicted to be 31 degrees with a low of 5. It will be colder Tuesday with a high of just 13 and a low of minus 8. Wednesday's high is 12 with a low of 6. More snow could be on the way Thursday looks even with a high of 35 and a low of 9.
