Emergency Services Volunteer For Lincoln-Way Area Dead At 36

FRANKFORT, IL — A volunteer with Emergency Services and Disaster Agencies in New Lenox, who also worked alongside Manhattan and Mokena Emergency Services, died Nov. 25.

Brian A. Dalaly, 36, of Frankfort, died at his home, according to an obituary on the Kurtz Memorial Chapel website. Visitation for Dalaly is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way in Frankfort, with a service to follow, according to Kurtz Memorial Chapel. A private internment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice.

"For those who did not know Brian, he was one of the most active and committed members of our department during his years of service," the New Lenox Emergency Services posted Monday on its Facebook page. "Throughout his tenure, Brian held many positions and spearheaded several special assignments. Brian dedicated more than ten years of his life to serving the citizens of New Lenox and our surrounding communities. New Lenox Emergency Services would like to extend our deepest condolences to Brian’s family and friends."

Chief of Manhattan Emergency Services, Terry Doyle, described Dalaly as "top notch" and said, "They don't make too many like Brian."

"I would call the guy 'Mr. Dependable,'" Doyle said. "The things he did went above and beyond for New Lenox, us. Whenever I needed him, I could call him in the middle of the night and say, 'Hey, I need a car in Manhattan,' and he'd be there."

A tribute fund has been set up for Dalaly's family. Those wishing to donate can do so by visiting the Kurtz Memorial Chapel website.
