Fake $100 Bill Scam Uses Young Women To Spend Funny Money: Cops
Frankfort police discovered the scam after questioning a girl recruited to pass along phony bills at village businesses.

FRANKFORT, IL — A scheme using young women to pass along counterfeit $100 bills could be targeting village retailers, according to Frankfort police. Investigators uncovered the scam Tuesday after police took in to custody and questioned a girl employed to pass along bogus bills, police said in an alert Thursday.
The operation works like this, according to what the girl, a minor, told police: A man between 19 to 21 years old recruits a "crew" of young women and drives them to different businesses to spend less than $10 to $15 with the fake $100 bill. The women are then paid $20 each time they pass along a phony bill.
In the latest incident, the man drove a black BMW SUV and stayed in the vehicle while the girl entered the store. The following serial numbers also have been used in these counterfeit cases:

Police has reported the scheme to the Secret Service. Businesses can go to the federal agency's website for resources on how to spot fake currency.
