Frankfort Man Wants Neighbor's Dog Euthanized

The dog bit both the man and his young son in separate attacks a little more than a year apart, according to a petition.

A Frankfort man wants his neighbor’s dog euthanized, claiming it bit both him and his young son in separate attacks a little more than a year apart.

The attorney for Timothy Vieth filed the petition to deem the dog vicious and dangerous in Will County court.

In the petition, Vieth said his neighbors Derek and Joellen Lee own a dog that not only bit him and his 6-year-old son, but was also loose and dangerous on three other occasions.

First, on Nov. 2, 2013, Veith’s son called on the Lees’ Liatris Drive home to see if their daughter “wanted to come outside and play,” the petition said.

The Lees’ dog, Boomer, “crashed through the storm door knocking (the boy) to the ground,” the petition said. The dog then allegedly “bit on and around the (boy’s) head through a hooded jacket he was wearing causing a laceration on the head” of the child.

Then, on Dec. 14, 2014, “Timothy Vieth was at the home of Derek Lee and Joellen Lee for the purpose of returning a cooking dish,” the petition said.

Boomer lunged at Vieth, the petition said, and bit his hand.

“Timothy Vieth sustained significant lacerations on the forehand and palm,” the petition said.

Vieth wants Boomer killed and the Lees to pay a $100 fine. If Boomer is not put down, Vieth wants the dog fixed, microchipped, and muzzled whenever it is not inside an enclosure.
