Frankfort New Year's Day: What's Closed

FRANKFORT, IL — With the upcoming New Year's holiday, there are several closures planned for local agencies and organizations in Frankfort. While New Year's Eve falls on the weekend, on Sunday; New Year's Day is Monday.
It's a good idea to double-check or call ahead if you're looking to stop by any stores or restaurants on New Year's Day.
Here's a look at some closures in Frankfort:

- No refuse pick-up on New Year's Day. Collection will be one day later than your usual pick-up day for the remainder of the week.
- Frankfort Village offices will be closed on Jan. 1.
- Lincoln-Way East High School, District 157-C students do not return to school until Jan. 9.
- Summit Hill District 161 students return to school on Jan. 8.
- Frankfort Public Library will be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
- Frankfort Park District offices will be closed Jan. 1.
- Local post office locations will also be closed on Jan. 1, and regular mail will not be delivered.
