Frankfort Residents Reminded To Avoid Street Parking After Snowfall

Local police urged motorists to avoid parking in streets after more than two inches of snow fell, which puts a local ordinance into effect.

FRANKFORT, IL — As overnight snow dumped up to more than four inches of snow in the area Wednesday morning, Frankfort Police are warning local residents not to park on village streets to allow snowplows to do their jobs.

Street parking is prohibited by village officials when at least 2 inches of snow is present, according to a local ordinance. The absence of vehicles parked on streets allows the Department of Public Works to continue snow removal efforts without being obstructed.

Village officials said that residents are also reminded not to shovel or snow blow snow into local streets as it can create a hazard.
