Frankfort School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Frankfort is August 23. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Frankfort School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

August

• 8/23: First Day of School

September

• 9/1: Teacher Institute (No school)
• 9/4: Labor Day Holiday (No school)

October

• 10/6: School Improvement Day - Early Dismissal
• 10/9: Columbus Day Holiday (No school)

November

• 11/20-21: Parent/Teacher Conferences (No school)
• 11/22: Non-Attendance Day
• 11/23: Thanksgiving Holiday (No school)
• 11/24: Non-Attendance Day

December

• 12/22: Early Release - One Hour
• 12/25-1/5: Winter Break (No school)

January

• 1/8: Teacher Institute (No school)
• 1/15: M.L. King Holiday (No school)

February

• 2/16: Teacher Institute (No school)
• 2/19: President's Holiday (No school)

March & April

• 3/26-4/2: Spring Break (No school)

May

• 5/28: Memorial Day Holiday (No school)

June

• 6/1: School Improvement Day - Early Dismissal
• 6/8: School Improvement Day - Early Dismissal (Last Day of School if the 5 Emergency Days are Used)

* At the end of the school term in June, the calendar will be reduced one day for each emergency day not used - up to a total of five days.
