Frankfort's Art On The Green Showcases Work Of Area Artists, Creators
The third annual event will include work from 28 local artists and will also include a string quartet and other activities this weekend.

FRANKFORT, IL — A community event that showcases the work of local arts will again take place this weekend as Art On The Green returns to downtown Frankfort.
The third annual event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday at Breidert Green Park, which is located at 432 W. Nebraska St. in Frankfort. This year’s event will feature the work of 28 local artists, organizers said, and the Town and Country Art League and the Arts Guild of Homer Glen will also participate.
The event will also include a performance by a string quartet from the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra as well as The Lincoln Way Strings.

“It's imperative for the community to have exposure to local artists,” said Katie Stempniak, the Frankfort Arts Association board president. “Through this promotion, memories and interests are formed, human bonds are made, and history is made and preserved through all creative mediums.”
The event will also feature live, music, wine tasting, and the local Farmer’s Market, which will be taking place during the course of the day, organizers said. There will also be activities for local children to accompany the art fair, which includes work in a number of artistic disciplines.

The Frankfort Arts Association also offers classes and continues to grow throughout the community, Stempniak said. The association is seeking volunteers to join committees to help with fundraising, class curriculum, and coordination.
