Frankfort's Prairie Park Getting New Playground
The current playground equipment has been removed, and new play structures will be installed this summer, the Village said.
FRANKFORT, IL — Upgrades are coming to the Prairie Park playground, the Village of Frankfort shared on its Facebook page.
The current playground equipment has been removed, and new play structures will be installed this summer, the Village said.
Concept plans show a playground with several slides, a tree climb, an 'X climb', and other climbing structures.

The Village said that the new playground will also include a rubberized surface. The pebbles of the current playground will be removed.
The Village acquired 14 acres of property in 1995 to establish Prairie Park in downtown Frankfort, according to the Village website. Frankfort also recently started construction on new downtown parking lots at Prairie Park and 2 Smith St.

Plans are also underway for path improvements at the park.
