It's Not A Bird, It's Not A Plane, It's Witchy Night Out

FRANKFORT, IL — It is the season of the witch, and the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce is helping to celebrate by inviting residents to participate in Witchy Night Out in downtown Frankfort from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.

"It's going to be an evening where the shops and restaurants have some fun," said Chair of Witchy Night Out Traci Tessone. "Restaurants will be having fun drinks and specials, and the shops will also be having sales and treats."

Participants will have a chance to win a prize in two contests, Tessone said. First, Witchy revelers can pick up a "passport" at any participating business in downtown Frankfort. The goal is to get the passport signed or stamped by six participating businesses. Once completed, the passports can be turned in at one of the shops or restaurants, and someone will win a gift basket valued at over $200, Tessone said.

The second contest might not work so well with vampires, but witches should be OK. Participants can take a selfie or group photo, post it to Instagram and tag it with "#witchynightout" for a chance to win gift cards for downtown businesses, also valued at over $200, Tessone said.

"It will be a good night to dress up, shop and eat," said Tessone, who owns Whimsy in downtown Frankfort. "A lot of people look forward to it because it's a chance to get out with friends and see all the fun things and fall items the shops have."

Tessone said many of the participating businesses will be offering special deals for those who dress up, so dust off your broom, straighten your hat and go find some witchy good deals.
