LW East Football Playoffs: Griffins Get Wolves In First Round
Lincoln-Way East will play Oswego at 1 p.m. Saturday.

FRANKFORT, IL — The regular season is over, and the Lincoln-Way East High School Griffins football team starts it run for another Class 8A championship at 1 p.m. Saturday against Oswego High School.
It will be a home game in Frankfort for the Griffins, who finished the season 7-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play, according to maxpreps.com. Oswego finished the season 6-3 overall and 2-3 in its conference, according to MaxPreps.
The Griffins are heading into the playoffs on a three-game winning streak, according to MaxPreps. The Griffins currently hold the No. 15 ranking in Class 8A and the No. 31 overall ranking in the state, according to MaxPreps.

The Griffins tallied wins against Crete-Monee, Stagg, Andrew, Bolingbrook, Homewood-Flossmoor, Lockport and Bradley-Bourbonnais; the team's two losses came against Naperville Central and Sandburg, according to MaxPreps.
The winner of the Lincoln-Way East/Oswego game will play the winner of the York/Minooka game.

The Griffins have won three Class 8A championships: In 2005-06, 2018-18 and 2019-20, according to IHSA.
