FRANKFORT, IL — A Mokena faces drug and weapons charges after he was allegedly found with a Taser, two fake IDs and more than 2 ounces of marijuana and hallucinogenic mushrooms during a traffic stop early Friday, according to Frankfort police. Raed Farhoud, 19, of the 19500 block of 116th Ave., Mokena, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, manufacture/delivery of marijuana, unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a fraudulent driver's license, police said.
Farhoud was stopped for driving with an expired registration sticker at around 12:26 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, on LaPorte Road, near LaGrange Avenue, according to police. The officer said he smelled the odor of burnt pot coming from the car, and he noticed an unholstered Taser in the driver side door compartment, police said.
A search of the car found about 2.15 ounces of pot and about 0.14 ounces of mushrooms, which tested positive for psilocybin, according to police. Items used in the sale of pot — a grinder, plastic bags and scales — also were found in the car, police said.
