She was a woman of many talents, she shared her gifts as a hairdresser and seamstress, serving and blessing many with her gifts.

Judith Hernández, age 84, late of Joliet and formerly of Chicago, and Deltona, FL, the past 30 years, passed away peacefully, Monday, December 22, 2025, at home with her loving family by her side.

Born June 4, 1941, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Judith was the daughter of Francisco Andrew and Gertrudis (Colon) Adorno.

Judith was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be forever missed by her family. She was a woman of many talents, she shared her gifts as a hairdresser and seamstress, serving and blessing many with her gifts. She was well known and deeply loved in her church community, where she shared her faith and creativity as a worship leader, song writer, and singer. Judith also enjoyed crafting and was a talented potter, finding joy in creating beauty with her hands.

Surviving are her loving children, Judith Terron, Jose D. Hernández, Marissa Hernández, Lindsey A. (Vanessa) Hernández, and Miriam Hernández; her beloved grandchildren, Stephanie and Venesa Sejia, Danielle Hernández, Joshua, Joy and Ezra Ortiz, Lindsey (Laura Heron- Hernández), Jr., Christian and Julian Hernández, Ashley, Victor and Alexis Gonzalez, Jaden Harrison; eight dear great-grandchildren; her sister, Deborah Adorno; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose Maria Hernández; and her brothers and sisters, Francisco, Margot, Arcadia, and Daniel.

Visitation for Judith Hernández will be held Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 3:00 p.m., until the time of services with a time of sharing at 5:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet, IL 60431. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services and interment will be private.
