Purses Stolen From Unlocked Cars In Series Of Break-Ins: Cops

Similar cases also have been reported in other Lincoln-Way communities over the past few days, according to a Frankfort police alert.

FRANKFORT, IL — Police are investigating a series of break-ins Wednesday involving unlocked vehicles outside a Frankfort business, according to the department. Purses were stolen from the vehicles in each of the incidents, police said.

The break-ins happened Wednesday, March 7, at a business in the 10300 block of Lincoln Highway, according to a Frankfort police alert sent to residents. Similar cases also have been reported over the past few days in the other Lincoln-Way communities, police said.

According to authorities, the thieves in these break-ins are targeting locations where individuals routinely leave valuables in their vehicles, such as health clubs, dry cleaners and daycare centers. The items are then quickly taken from the vehicles soon after the drivers get out, investigators said.
