See Santa's Reindeer, Hitch A Ride On Trackless Train Saturday
The activities are part of Reindeer on the Green, scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Breidert Green in downtown Frankfort.

FRANKFORT, IL — Ever wonder what Santa's reindeer are like up close and in person? Well, you'll get your chance to find out from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Village of Frankfort's Reindeer on the Green at Breidert Green in downtown Frankfort.
Two Alaskan reindeer, courtesy of Whispering Pines Reindeer Ranch, are scheduled to be on site to welcome event goers and bring some extra holiday cheer, according to Village of Frankfort Event Coordinator Sue Lynchey.
Also scheduled as part of the festivities is a trackless train offering free rides to children and adults around the Breidert Green parking lot, Lynchey said. The train can hold up to 30 people, and there's no limit on how often people can ride. The train rides are weather permitting.

Musical performances are scheduled by The Brass Willow Brass Quintet and the Frankfort Girl Scouts Service Unit 718, the latter of which will also have homemade crafts available for purchase at the Christmas Holiday Market, and will be conducting a hat, coat and glove drive.
And the fun doesn't stop at 2 p.m. Children can whip up a batch of their own special reindeer food to leave out on the lawn Christmas Eve while Santa gets his milk and cookies inside. The food is made up of rolled oats with red, white and green "magic," Lynchey said.
