Snow Parking Bans: Keep Village, Township Streets Clear For Plows
PLUS: A winter storm warning hasn't cancelled Frankfort police's "Coffee With a Cop" event Friday.

FRANKFORT, IL — As Will and Cook counties prepare for as much as a foot of snow falling in the area beginning Thursday night, Frankfort officials are reminding residents about the village's parking restrictions during such a weather event. Vehicles parked on village streets during a snowfall of 2 inches or more can be ticketed and towed.
A winter storm warning from 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, until 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, for Will, Cook, DuPage and Lake counties in northern Illinois by the National Weather Service. Between six to 10 inches of snow is expected during that time, with more than a foot accumulating in some areas, according to the forecast.
Village streets aren't the only roadways affected by parking restrictions. A newly enacted ordinance limits parking on Frankfort Township streets 2 inches or more of accumulation. As with the village regulation, vehicles violating the township ordinance can be ticketed and towed.
