'Speed Dating' Forum Lets Voters Meet Attorney General Candidates
The format of Friday's event in Frankfort will let the public meet and greet some of the Democratic candidates in the field.

FRANKFORT, IL — Five of the eight candidates running for Illinois attorney general in March's Democratic primary are set to participate in a meet-and-greet forum this week in Frankfort. Hosted by Southwest Suburban Activists, the "speed dating" event will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, March 9, at Frankfort VFW Post 1493, 22057 Pfeiffer Road.
The entire Democratic field was invited to Friday's event, but only five candiates have confirmed that they are participating, according to the event's Facebook page. The attorney general candidates scheduled to be at the forum include:
- State Rep. Scott Drury (58th District)
- Sharon Fairley, chief administrator of the Chicago Civilian Office of Police Accountability
- Chicago Committeeman Aaron Goldstein (33rd Ward), former defense lawyer for former Gov. Rod Blagojevich
- Former Gov. Pat Quinn
- Chicago Park District President Jesse Ruiz
Former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti, State Sen. Kwame Raoul (13th District) and Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering are not scheduled to attend the forum.

The format of the event allows voters to talk with the candidates, one at a time, in small, roundtable discussion groups. Candidates will then rotate from table to table at 15-minute intervals.
A cash bar will be available, and an Ofrenda Food Truck will be at the VFW, serving food.
