Street Closures In Effect Starting Wednesday For Fall Fest

Multiple street closures in the downtown area will affect travel around Frankfort during Fall Fest.

FRANKFORT, IL — Fall Fest in Frankfort kicks off Wednesday and will continue through Labor Day. Along with a full slate of entertainment will come a number of street closings in and around the downtown area.

Here's what drivers in Frankfort need to know:

Where Parking Is Restricted

  • No parking on White Street from Kansas Street to Elwood Street from 4 p.m. until 1 a.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The same area will be closed to parking Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
  • No parking on Oak Street from Kansas Street to Elwood Street from 4 p.m. until 1 a.m. Thursday and Friday. The same area will be closed to parking Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
  • No parking on Ash Street, Oak Street and Hickory Street starting at 4 p.m. on Friday. Those streets will also be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
  • Restricted parking from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and other areas of no parking on Kansas Street, Elwood Street, Nebraska Street (from Linden Drive to South Elsner Road), Center Road, White Street, Sauk Trail, Old Frankfort Way, East and West Bowen Streets, Carpenter Street, and Smith Street.
  • Access only to vehicles with a valid Frankfort sticker at Nebraska Street and U.S. Route 45, Old Frankfort Way and Route 45, and White Street and Route 45 from 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
  • No roadway access to the downtown area from 12:45-4 p.m. during the parade Sunday.

Other Options For Parking

  • Parking will be available at Grassy Lot (Boy Scout Lot), U.S. Route 45 (LaGrange Road) and Nebraska Street, with optional shuttle bus service to and from the Festival.
  • Parking Fee: $10 donation to Frankfort Boy Scout Troop #270.
  • Bus Service to the Festival area with drop-off and pick-up in the Prairie Park parking lot at White and Elwood Streets.
  • Shuttle Bus Service runs continuously on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m., and from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday
  • Handicap Parking (appropriate permit must be displayed) will be available at Trolley Barn parking lot (Nebraska Street and Center Road). $15 parking fee goes to Operation Playground.

The Frankfort Police Department is also reminding visitors to the Fest that a 10 p.m. curfew applies in the Fest area for those 21 and under during the duration of the fest; a 9:30 p.m. curfew is in effect every day for those ages 16 and under.
