Suspect Sought For Vicious VFW Attack

He knocked a woman down and brandished a piece of broken glass, police said.

FRANKFORT, IL — A mystery man remains at large three weeks after a vicious attack on a woman at the South Pfeiffer Road Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall.

About 7 p.m. on July 27, the man “approached (the woman) in a secluded area of the business,” police said.

He grabbed her and knocked her to the ground, police said, and “used what is believed to be a piece of broken glass as a weapon.”

The woman suffered only minor injuries in the attack.

The man is about 6 feet tall, has black hair, a black goatee, and was wearing a blue T-shirt and blue jeans.

The same man was “extremely intoxicated and being vulgar” at the VFW eight days before the attack and was kicked out, police said.

“It is possible this attack was retaliation,” police said.

The Frankfort police ask anyone with information on the man or the attack to call the the investigations division.
