Traffic Delays Expected Wednesday In Downtown Frankfort For 5K Race
The Frankfort Park District's Short Run on a Long Day is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
FRANKFORT, IL — Visitors to downtown Frankfort can expect some detours and delays on the roadways Wednesday evening as community members lace up their running shoes for the Frankfort Park District's 22nd annual Short Run on a Long Day 5K Run/Walk.
The race is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. at Main Park, 400 W. Nebraska St. The Frankfort Police Department advised that people traveling through the area can expect some delays until around 8:30 p.m., according to an alert sent Wednesday.
Those interested in participating can still register in person Wednesday at Main Park for the event. Registration fee is $30. More than 300 people have already registered to take part in the 5K, according to Frankfort Park District staff.
