Village Gives Update On St. Francis Road Construction
The final surfacing of the road should be done by the end of August.
FRANKFORT, IL — At the village of Frankfort board meeting on Aug. 17, Assistant Village Administrator Jeff Cook gave an update on a much talked-about subject: the St. Francis Road construction.
"The final surface looks to be completing," Cook said, adding that the main road is finished and is on track to be done by the end of August.
Cook said residents may notice that the crews may leave and there will be rough grooves on the side of the road for a while.

"They can't put the black dirt and sod in because it's under IDOT, which doesn't allow that to happen until September," Cook said. "It may look like the crews just up and left, and more of the same delay and such, but that's actually because of the contract provisions that are in place."
