Windy Hill Park Renovations Complete

FRANKFORT, IL — The Frankfort Park District's Windy Hill Park renovation is now complete, and the park district is anticipating it will open by the end of the month.

According to the park district, the project included a new playground, covered seating with solar power charging stations, fitness stations and poured in play surfacing. The play surfacing allows for better access for individuals with mobility challenges, the park district said.

The Park District received matching funding from an Open Space Land Acquisition Development grant, which allowed the scope of the work to be expanded.

The park district said that the landscaping will take time to grow in due to the time of year. A formal ribbon cutting is planned for a later date.
