GENEVA, IL — A project to replace underground utility cable in Geneva's Dover Ridge subdivision will begin the week of Oct. 7, officials announced.

The work is part of the city's 2024-25 underground electric replacement program that will be ongoing for several months in the subdivision, located off Burgess and Kaneville roads.

Utility Dynamics, the city's contractor, will helm the project. Crews will directionally bore new conduit through utility easements, pull wire through the conduit and also replace electrical transformers and street lights. Scheduled power outages will be required for the project; city staff will send out notifications in advance of service disruptions, according to a news release.

Residents with private utilities, such as a private sprinkler system or dog fence, should contact the Geneva Public Works Department's electric division so they can be marked and not struck during construction.

Work is expected to be substantially completed by March 2025, if weather permits. The landscape will be restored once construction is complete.
