Partnership Between D304, Geneva Public Library Makes 'Learning Easier, More Accessible'
Thanks to the partnership, students' school IDs will be linked to a library account going forward.
GENEVA, IL — A new partnership between Geneva School District 304 and the Geneva Public Library District will make "learning easier and more accessible for students," officials said.
Going forward, students' school IDs will be linked to a library account to give them seamless access to books, digital media and educational tools. That means students can use either their library card or school ID to check out books, register for programs and use study spaces at the library.
Online resources through the library, including homework help, research databases and test prep for standardized exams, are available 24/7.

"This collaboration removes barriers and opens doors to thousands of resources, ensuring that education doesn't stop when the school day ends," district officials wrote in a news release.
Students will still have only one library account. If a student already has a library card, their school ID will be added to it. If they don't have one, a new account will be created.

Parents will have the option to opt out of the library ID link during the school verification process in the spring, according to the district.
