Drive-Thru Clinic To Offer Rabies Vaccines Wednesday In Geneva
The county is set to offer rabies vaccinations from 4:30-7 p.m. Wednesday in Geneva.
GENEVA, IL — Kane County residents can take their pets for rabies vaccines at a clinic Wednesday in Geneva.
Kane County Animal Control staff will use a drive-thru system to keep workers and residents safe amid the coronavirus pandemic. The clinic is scheduled to run from 4:30-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Kane County Animal Control building at 4060 Keslinger Road in Geneva.

Volunteers and workers from the county's Animal Control division will take pets from residents' vehicles to the exam station, where a doctor will perform tests and administer vaccinations, according to a news release.
Residents do not have to exit their vehicles, but officials are asking everyone to wear a mask while parked at the clinic.

After medical crews conduct the exams and administer vaccinations, a veterinarian will speak to pet owners in their vehicles, the release states.

A similar drive-thru clinic in June provided vaccinations for more than 160 cats and dogs, officials said.
Animal control staff members will be wearing masks, gloves and medical-grade tops to keep pets and their owners safe, the release states. The exam station will be cleaned in between each client. Officials are asking pet owners to wear a mask and remain in their cars at the clinic.

A one-year rabies vaccine will cost $20 for neutered pets, $35 for non-neutered pets, and $10 for seniors with pets. Pet owners can also purchase microchip identification tags for $15, the release states.
