Fox Valley Folk Festival Planned Labor Day Weekend In Geneva

The festival is returning for the 48th year, bringing with it performances on six stages, workshops, exhibits and food trucks.

GENEVA, IL — The Fox Valley Folk Music & Storytelling Festival will return to Geneva over Labor Day weekend.

In its 48th year, the festival will bring performances on multiple stages, workshops, exhibits and food trucks to Wheeler Park, 822 N. First St., from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 1 and until 6 p.m. Sept. 2.

Performances will run continuously to span mini-concerts, in-the-round groupings of performers and teaching workshops. Organizers said music activities are meant to appeal to a variety of tastes, including traditional folk, singer-songwriters, old-time and blues.

A kids' zone, exhibitions, arts and crafts area, and food trucks are also planned. A barn dance will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. Sunday, followed by Spine Tingling Tales at 9 p.m.

Admission is free, but organizers encourage donations at the door. A list of scheduled performers is available on the Fox Valley Folklore Society's website.
