Geneva High School Homecoming Parade: What Road Closures To Expect
Geneva High School students are getting ready to celebrating homecoming at the end of September.

GENEVA, IL — With the Homecoming Day parade coming up Sept. 27 in Geneva, police are expecting traffic delays and temporary road closures.
State Street between Third and Ninth streets will shut down at 2 p.m. to make room for the event. The following streets on the parade route will also close:
- Geneva High School by Stevens Street east to Anderson Boulevard
- Anderson Boulevard south to State Street
- State Street east to Third Street
- Third Street north to Hamilton Street
As students march back to Geneva High School, traffic will also be impacted on Third Street from State to Stevens streets and on Stevens Street from Third Street to McKinley Avenue.

The detour route for eastbound traffic will take drivers to State Street, south on Ninth Street, east on James Street, north on Third Street and back east on State Street. The directions are reversed for westbound drivers.
Police will provide traffic control, but drivers are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly to avoid the parade route and minimize delays.
