GHS Students Receive Tradition Of Excellence Awards
Both the music festival and dance team participants received high awards at GHS in late January 2017.
From GHS: The Board presented the Tradition of Excellence Awards to the following GHS students for their high achievement. ILMEA All-State Music Festival Participants:
- Alex Cordogan – All-State Honors Orchestra – Violin
- Grayson Frazier – All-State Honors Jazz Band – Tenor Sax
- Quinn Hensley – All State Honors Chorus – Tenor II
- Alex Tschetter – All State Honors Orchestra – Tuba
- Ariela Policastro – Participated in the ILMEA Future Music Educators Seminar
These students were chosen to represent Geneva High School at the ILMEA – Illinois Music Educators Association All-State Conference & Festival held in Peoria, Illinois January 27-29, 2017. The GHS Music Directors are Roxanne Curtis, Pat Frederick, Julie Lawrence and Neil Shipton. Dance Team State Champions:

The GHS Varsity Dance Team earned their 4th consecutive IHSA State Dance Championship held at Illinois State University January 27-28, 2017. The varsity dance team is coached by Amy VanWagenen.
