Kane County Citizens Police Academy to Expand

Governmental partnership to allow for a joint police academy.

The Kane County Sheriff’s Office has formed a partnership with the Fox Valley Police Department to host a joint citizens police academy. The Kane County Sheriff’s Office has held its own academy for the past seven years, but Sheriff Donald Kramer wants to expand it. To do so, he is going to partner with other agencies - starting with the Fox Valley Park District.

“Community policing is based on the partnerships that are formed between the police and citizens to tackle the problems that our communities face.,” Kramer said in a written release. ”By bringing in more citizens to experience and understand how the Sheriff’s Office and Park District Police function we will continue to open the lines of communication between us and the citizens.

“This will lead to a better understanding of how we can all work together to solve those problems that exist in our communities.”
