Kautz Road Detour To Remain Through End Of October

In late October, construction operations will switch to limiting traffic to northbound only until Thanksgiving.

GENEVA, IL — The Kautz Road detour, which has affected northbound traffic for about four weeks, will remain through the end of October, Geneva officials said in an update Monday.

The detour is part of a project between Geneva and St. Charles to reconstruct and widen Kautz Road. Work is taking place between Swenson Avenue in St. Charles and just north of State Street in Geneva.

Construction was originally scheduled to begin in early June but got postponed while contractors "spent the past several weeks resolving the utility conflicts and relocations." Initial work began in late June.
