Kautz Road Widening About To Begin In Geneva, St. Charles

GENEVA, IL — Kautz Road will be reconstructed and widened as part of a project between Geneva and St. Charles.

Officials said a contractor will be mobilizing equipment the week of May 20, with operations scheduled to be underway at the end of the month.

Construction will occur from Swenson Avenue in St. Charles to just north of State Street in Geneva. The project will involve replacing failing pavement, enhancing freight mobility, mitigating drainage issues, completing trail connectivity, improving safety measures, and supporting economic development in the area.

Some detours will be required during the project.

City officials anticipate work to be substantially completed by the end of the year. Landscape restoration and other punch list items will be finished in spring 2025.
