Mail-In Ballots Now Available For Kane County Voters

Kane County voters do not need to provide a reason for requesting a vote-by-mail ballot for the Nov. 3 election.

KANE COUNTY, IL — Kane County residents can now apply for a ballot to vote by mail in the upcoming election, and county Clerk John Cunningham is urging all voters to take advantage amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In a letter to registered voters, Cunningham said his office “has been preparing for months to protect the health and safety of our voters and election workers,” with judges required to wear protective gear including masks and gloves, and increased sanitation protocols at the polls.

“Even with those safety measures, I strongly encourage all voters to apply for a Vote by Mail ballot for the November 3 election,” Cunningham wrote. “With a Vote by Mail ballot, you can vote safely from the convenience of home and avoid lines or crowds at the polling place on Election Day.”

Cunningham’s office sent a paper ballot to registered voters earlier this month, alongside his letter. Residents who did not receive a mail-in ballot can complete an application online. Voters who apply online will receive an email confirming their applications were accepted, and they should receive mail-in ballots by the end of September, Cunningham said.
