Metra Service To Geneva Altered To Accommodate Third Main Line Project

Two inbound trains and two outbound trains will be affected by Union Pacific's project to build a third line between Geneva to West Chicago.

The altered Metra service to Geneva is a result of Union Pacific's project to build a third railroad line near the current UP-West tracks spanning from Peck Road in Geneva to West Chicago.

GENEVA, IL — Metra service to Geneva will be disrupted Sunday to accomodate the ongoing Third Main Line railway project, city officials said.

Two inbound trains that typically take off in Elburn at 10:25 a.m. and 12:25 p.m. will instead originate in West Chicago at 10:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.

Two outbound trains departing Chicago at 8:40 a.m. and 10:40 a.m. won't make their usual stops at Geneva, La Fox and Elbun, instead terminating at West Chicago.
