Woman Rescued After Jumping Into Fox River In Geneva
The woman was near the Kane County Government Center when a rescue boat found her, police said.

GENEVA, IL — Firefighters rescued a woman Monday after she jumped into the Fox River near the downtown Geneva dam, officials said.
Crews were dispatched at 11:52 a.m. after a bystander witnessed the woman jump into the river near the western edge of the dam. Firefighters deployed three rescue boats and one dive team to search for the woman, who police saw floating downstream near the Union Pacific West railway trestle, according to a news release.
Firefighters, paramedics and divers from the St. Charles and Batavia fire departments assisted in the rescue, and Geneva and Batavia police provided additional support.

The woman was near the Kane County Government Center, 719 S. Batavia Ave., when a rescue boat found her, officials said. Crews pulled her from the water and performed life-saving measures at the Fabyan Forest Preserve boat ramp before she was taken to an area hospital.
As of Monday night, officials did not have additional information available about her condition.
