2015 Best of Wheaton Award Winners Announced

At an event Thursday night, the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of the 2015 Best of Wheaton Awards.

This is the 7th year the chamber has held this contest.

“We accepted nominations back in January from the public and other chamber members,” Kerry O’Brien, executive director of the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce said. “Everybody needed two nominations to be considered for the ballot and one of them could be a self-nomination.

The community could vote, as could a panel of judges.

“We had a panel of judges evaluate the application and choose their favorite application,” O’Brien said. “Just because someone wins the popular vote doesn’t mean they are going to win the prize.”

Winning businesses get a trophy.

“We will be sending them out a little seal that they can use,” O’Brien said. “They will be published in our directory.

“We try to promote all of the nominees and the winners for the rest of the year.”
