Citing a desire to come into line with similar requirements in other villages, the Board of Trustees will vote on sprinkler system requirements in the coming weeks. Previously, the Board was not able to agree on requirements and sent the issue back to the Plan Commission for further review.
The Village Board is expected to vote on the proposed changes in a meeting on Jan. 17 at the Civic Center beginning at 7 p.m. in the Galligan Board Room.
The proposed changes include requiring fire sprinkler systems to be installed only in the remodeled areas of homes if the cost of remodeling exceeds $300,000.
