Beautification Funds Now Available For Glen Ellyn Businesses
The village board approved for Downtown Beautification Awards to be made available to help businesses make exterior improvements.
GLEN ELLYN, IL — Businesses in Glen Ellyn's Central Business District can now apply for a Downtown Beautification Award of up to $3,000 to make improvements to their exterior spaces. On Monday, the village board approved the program, which will be made possible via Central Business District TIF funds.
Approved businesses can use their Downtown Beautification Award for:
- Awning installation or replacement
- Installation of concrete planters
- Lighting for outdoor dining
- Materials for decking
- Mural materials
To be eligible, a business must:

- Be in Glen Ellyn's Central Business District TIF District
- Have a minimum expense budget of $1,500
- Have at least one year left on their lease
- Have been opened and operating before Jan.1, 2022
- Still be in operation at time of application
Awards will be granted on a first come, first served, case-by-case basis, according to village documents. To apply, business owners must first contact Economic Development Coordinator Meredith Hannah, and then complete an award application.
The Downtown Beautification Award Program will be open until Dec. 31, 2027.
