Blackberry Market Expected to Open Thursday
After months of construction and planning, the owners of the new restaurant and market were planning to open Thursday.

The final preparations were underway and if all goes well Blackberry Market will be opening its doors to customers Thursday.
Owners Anna and Bob Davidson were putting the finishing touches on the business and waiting to get final approval from officials. They anticipated opening the restaurant to customers today.
Anna Davidson has experience in catering and will incorporate that element into her new business, which is located at 405 N. Main St.

Blackberry Market will offer a casual dining environment, with a focus on fresh, homemade food, along with a market space and a catering business, Davidson has said. The concept is similar to some businesses found on the North Shore or in Chicago, such as Food Stuffs or the Southport Grocery & Café.
The restaurant/market received a lot of community support from residents in Glen Ellyn. Some of those excited for the business to open even helped fund the business through Blackberry Market’s Indiegogo business fundraising page. The couple had hoped to raise $15,000 through the website, but received $26,226 in funding from community contributors.

The restaurant space had a nice vintage feel, Anna Davidson has said, adding that it would have an urban feel with an industrial interior. In addition, the space was built so customers could see items being prepared.
Anna Davidson will be cooking most of the food along with her co-manager, who along with Davidson will be head chefs at Blackberry Market.
