Burst Water Pipe Floods Glen Ellyn Historical Society: Report
The burst pipe caused the basement to flood to the ceiling, Village President Diane McGinley said.

GLEN ELLYN, IL -- The Glen Ellyn Historical Society building's basement is fully flooded and water is seeping into the first floor after a pipe broke. Glen Ellyn Village President Diane McGinley made the announcement Friday morning via Facebook, saying professionals were at the scene to maintain the flooding, which had initially reached the ceiling of the basement.
McGinley said the Historical Society is waiting until the water is cleared and the space is dried before they can assess damages and see what historical artifacts and documents can be salvaged. McGinley said the flood triggered an alarm that could not be turned off until enough water in the basement was extracted to allow access to the alarm system.
