The state’s attorney reported the alleged assaults were discovered by the victim’s mother who discovered sexually explicit text messages and photographs between Rodriguez and his victim on the victim’s cellular phone.

The mother contacted the Carol Stream Police Department who then contacted the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office.

“An investigation conducted by the DuPage County Children’s Center resulted in Rodriguez admitting that “he would remove the victim’s diaper to touch her sex organ” and ultimately today’s charges,” the state’s attorney reported.

“The allegations against Mr. Rodriguez are some of the most despicable and disgusting I have seen in my nearly three decades as a prosecutor,” Berlin said in a written release. “This young girl has special needs and has had to rely on others her entire life. If these allegations are proven true, Mr. Rodriguez took advantage of his victim’s condition to satisfy his own sick, twisted sexual desires.“

If found guilty, Rodriguez faces a possible prison sentence of six to sixty years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
