Chili Cook-Off To Kick Off Jan. 14 in Glen Ellyn

Local restaurants will compete to serve up the best chili for the 2022 Glen Ellyn Chili Cook-Off.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — As temperatures dip below into the single digits, local restaurants are concocting their best chili recipes to vie for glory in Glen Ellyn's 2022 Chili Cook-Off, which kicks off Jan. 14.

Participating restaurants will serve up their competing chilis for residents, with dine-in and carryout options available depending on the eatery. As of Jan. 6, the following restaurants were slated to compete in Glen Ellyn's 2022 Chili Cook-Off:

  • Made in Italy Trattoria, serving up Thanksgiving Chili made with turkey, pork sausage and borlotti beans. Carryout only.
  • Maize and Mash, offering Colorado-style pork green chili for dine-in or carryout.
  • Reserve 22, serving Chef's Tom's Chili for dine-in and carryout. Prices are $8 per bowl and $20 per quart.
  • Two Hound Red, offering a signature chili option, with details pending.

The deadline for restaurants to sign up was Jan. 5, so more eateries may be on board with the chili competition soon. Patch will keep you updated as more participating restaurants are announced.

Diners can vote for the best chili in Glen Ellyn Jan. 14 through Jan. 23. The winner will be revealed Jan. 24.
