GLEN ELLYN, IL — Curry a la Flambé officially opened for business Oct. 10, bringing French-influenced Indian cuisine to its location at 462 N. Park Blvd. in Glen Ellyn. Owned by husband-and-wife Niaz Sathar and Patrycja Szkutnik, the restaurant prepares traditional dishes in a flambé style, creating a unique flavor profile.

Patch spoke with Sathar and Szkutnik in September as they prepped for their opening. They said many of the dishes are flambéd tableside, including the chicken makhani inferno. There's also the flambé mango habanero paneer, which Sathar described as "a perfect balance of sweet mango and fiery habanero, finished with a dramatic flambé." Other menu items at Curry a la Flambé include paneeer tikka masala and Tandoori lamb chops.

The restaurant also has a full bar, where bartenders serve up pineapple-ginger mojitos, smoked Desi old fashioneds and Indian beer.
