Demolition To Start On Roosevelt Road Hotel Property
Crews will begin demolition of a former hotel to prepare for new commercial developments on the property.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Crews will begin demolition on a former hotel building that occupies part of the Roosevelt Road corridor that is slated for redevelopment. The demolition is set to start on Dec. 11.
The property at 677 Roosevelt Rd. was formerly home to America's Best Value Inn. It sits on part of a piece of land that was purchased by the Village of Glen Ellyn in 2022 for $2.85 million. The purchase came amid plans to spur redevelopment in that part of the Roosevelt Road Corridor.
The village sold the eastern parcel of the property to Go Glen Ellyn Two, LLC in September 2024. Go Glen Ellyn Two, LLC plans to redevelop their parcels into commercial developments.

In March, village officials approved a $1.75 million agreement with Full Circle Communities (FCC) that would bring affordable housing and housing for disabled residents to three parcels of land located at 640 Taft Ave. As part of their sale agreement, Go Glen Ellyn Two, LLC had agreed to demolish the hotel building within six months of the sale.
Three additional parcels of the property at 640 Taft Ave. had been sold to Full Circle Communities (FCC) for $1.75 million in March 2024. FCC plans to redevelop their property into affordable housing for disabled residents.

Per the agreement, as many as 42 living places would be built by FCC to house residents or families whose median household income is 80 percent or less of the median household income in the area.
Additionally, village documents show that the agreement also calls for FCC to set aside 30 percent of the units to permanently house disabled residents with access to supportive services.
Per village records, the development concept would include a three-story housing complex, an outdoor area and 45 parking spots.
