Developer Seeks Zoning Variations To Overhaul Retail Plaza In Glen Ellyn
The proposed development would overhaul a long-standing commercial center, adding two restaurant spaces.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Developers are hoping to overhaul a shopping plaza in Glen Ellyn, bringing two new restaurant spaces and a major facade upgrade. The village's plan commission will review several zoning variance requests Thursday from Legacy Shops of Glen Ellyn, LLC, which recently purchased the lot and 21,500 square retail building.
According to village documents, the requested zoning variations include a request to reduce the required number of parking spaces from 83 to 73 and to reduce the length of parking spaces from 18 feet to 19 feet. The plaza currently has 86 parking spaces to accommodate shoppers at its current retail businesses.
Additional requests would allow for the addition of 22 trees, along with changes to surface and parking setbacks.
