Family of Murdered McDonald's Employee Suing Company
The family claims the employee's killer was allowed to linger in the store for hours before her murder.

The family of a Glen Ellyn McDonald’s employee who was stabbed to death in 2013 is now suing the Illinois-based burger giant, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.
The family claims the 33-year-old murdered woman’s employer allowed her murderer, 47-year-old Myron Ester, to loiter in the restaurant for an extended period of time preceding her death.
The woman, Linda Valez of Wheaton, was found buried in Panfish Park in Glen Ellyn. She had more than 30 stab wounds to her neck and body. The perpetrator was Valez’ ex-boyfriend.

According to the Sun-Times, Ester was acting hostile towards Valez while lingering for hours in the restaurant prior to her murder.
Valez’ mother, Gloria Araujo, has filed a two-count lawsuit for a minimum of $100,000 in damages. A representative from McDonald’s has expressed remorse for the event, but declined to comment any further.
