Gator Race Pits Rubber Alligators Against Each Other To Aid Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation
The Gator Race will be held July 24 at Sunset Pool in Glen Ellyn
GLEN ELLYN, IL — Rubber alligators will vie for glory and to raise money for Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation during the 2025 Gator Race. The race is set to be held at Sunset Pool on July 24.
Residents can adopt a gator to have a racer to rally behind. The cost to adopt a gator is $10 for one gator, $25 for a pack of 10 gators and $100 for 20 gators. The funds will be donated to the Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation.

Last year the inaugural Gator Race pitted 546 rubber gators against each other and raised a total of $3, 075. Following the 2024 race, Courtney O’Kray, Superintendent of Marketing and Communications for the Glen Ellyn Park District, told Patch, "These funds will make a tangible difference in the lives of our residents and help protect our valuable resources for generations to come."
