Glen Ellyn Closes Sale Of Former Roosevelt Road Hotel Properties

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn officials closed on the sale of four pieces of land that were part of the area known as the Roosevelt Road hotel site. The 1.3-acre site, which is located at Roosevelt and Taft, sold for $1.5 million to Go Glen Ellyn LLC.

The parcel of land is part of two former hotel sites along the Roosevelt Road corridor that Glen Ellyn purchased for $2.85 million in early 2022 in the hopes of spurring reinvestment along the corridor.

In February 2024, Glen Ellyn inked a deal with Full Circle Communities for $1.75 million to develop three parcels at 640 Taft Ave. into affordable housing.

Go Glen Ellyn LLC now has six months to demolish the building that's currently on the property.
