Glen Ellyn Establishes Grant Program For Businesses Amid Pandemic

The grants will aid businesses with coronavirus-related expenses.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The village of Glen Ellyn recently established a COVID-19 Support Grant Program to aid businesses who have been struggling amid the pandemic.

Approved on Monday, the program offers grants of up to $5,000 to businesses for coronavirus-related expenses incurred between March 1 and Dec. 1, 2020. The grants will be issued after purchases and improvements are made and the village receives applicable documentation.

To be eligible for a grant, businesses must also meet the following requirements:

  • Must be located within commercial business districts within the corporate boundaries of Glen Ellyn
  • Bricks and mortar businesses must have been open and in operation prior to March 1,
    2020, within the corporate limits of the Village of Glen Ellyn and must still be in operation when the application is submitted.
  • Applicant must have a minimum of one year remaining on their lease.
  • Expenses must have a minimum budget of $2,000.
